Privacy Policy

CardValue.ai is a free website to look up Pokémon card values, scan cards and get AI grade estimates. We keep this simple: we collect as little as possible and we never sell your data.

What we collect

  • Card photos you upload. Photos for the scanner are sent to our card recognition service to identify the cards and are not stored after the scan. Photos for AI grading are sent to an AI provider (OpenAI) to estimate the grade. Small preview images and the grading result are kept for 30 days so you can open your result link, then deleted automatically.
  • A random browser ID. Your browser gets a random ID that is stored on your device (local storage, not a cookie). We use it to apply the daily limit for free AI gradings, to keep your scans private to you and to count visits.
  • Visit statistics and security logs. When you use the website we record the pages you open, the website that sent you here, your browser type, your IP address and the country it belongs to, and when you scan or grade a card. We use this to count visitors, improve the website and stop abuse, for example by blocking networks that overload the service. This data is deleted after 60 days. We keep only total numbers per day after that. Our hosting providers also keep standard server logs.

What stays on your device

Your collection, quantities and currency setting are saved in your browser (local storage). They are not sent to us, except the card IDs needed to look up current prices. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What we do not do

  • No accounts, no names, no email addresses needed.
  • No cookies, no advertising trackers and no third party analytics.
  • We do not sell or rent your data.

Service providers

We use a few trusted providers to run the website: hosting (Netlify and Render), card recognition and pricing (our own scanning service, with prices from TCGdex, TCGplayer and Cardmarket data) and OpenAI for AI grading. They only receive what is needed to provide their service. The country of an IP address is looked up in a database stored on our own server, so your IP is not sent anywhere for that.

Your choices

You can use the price guide without uploading anything. You can delete your local collection at any time by clearing your browser data. If you want a grading result removed early, or have any question about your data, email us at support@cardvalue.ai.

Children

CardValue.ai is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not ask for any personal details.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
