How the AI grading works

  1. We find your card in the photo and crop it, so the background does not matter.
  2. We zoom in on all four corners and all four edges, where most wear hides.
  3. The AI grades four areas the same way professional graders do: centering, corners, edges and surface. Each is worth up to 25 points.
  4. Your weakest area counts most. Just like at PSA, a card with a chipped edge cannot get a 10 because of perfect centering. The final grade is rounded down.

How to take the best photos

  • Take the card out of its sleeve or top loader.
  • Use bright, even light. Daylight near a window works great.
  • Put the card on a plain, dark background and shoot straight from above.
  • Tilt the card slightly for a second photo if you want to check a holo for scratches.
  • Add a photo of the back: edge wear usually shows up there first.

What do the grades mean?

Is the AI grading free?

Yes. You can grade 3 cards per day for free, without an account. Gradings that fail do not count toward your limit.

How accurate is AI card grading?

The AI follows the same rules as professional graders and is strict about wear. It works best with sharp, well lit photos. It cannot see everything a grader sees in hand, like very light surface scratches, so treat it as an estimate.

Is this an official PSA grade?

No. It is an independent estimate. Only PSA, BGS, CGC and other grading companies can give official grades. Our estimate helps you decide which cards are worth sending in.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos are sent to our AI provider to grade the card. Small previews and the result are kept for 30 days so you can open your result link, then deleted.
